At one wedding I was helping to coordinate, a groomsman came to me a couple of hours before the ceremony to reveal that his tuxedo pants had not been hemmed by the rental company. They were easily 8 inches too long, and the photographer was waiting while we figured out what to do. Luckily I had some needle and thread in my emergency kit, and was able to take care of it. But if that emergency kit had contained some Duck Tape – oh, how easy it would have been to tape in a hem and send him on his way! I now make sure Duck Tape is part of my bag of tricks at any event I’m involved in.
