I’ve added the Kentucky Derby to my bucket list. Someday I would love to put on a pretty dress and an absurdly big hat and sing “My Old Kentucky Home” while sipping on a mint julep right there in the thick of things at Churchill Downs.
If you’re like me and won’t be there in person this year, the Official Kentucky Derby website contains lots of ideas for hosting a Derby party, even if you’re planning it at the last minute. It has party themes (Racing Silks, Red Carpet), games (stick horse race anyone?), and food and beverage recipes (snacks, main dishes, desserts and drinks.)
