Publicizing Your Event Online

There are hundreds of ways to promote your event online.  First and foremost, you’ll want to make sure it’s listed in every free publication that provides travel, recreation, and entertainment information.  Here are a few can’t-miss sites where you should submit your information:

Great Wolf lodge

  • eventful.com – enter city name or zip to get listings of all events happening in your area in categories such as concerts, festivals, nightlife and family events.
  • thingstodo.com – lists events in the U.S. by region.  Users just have to click on a state to get started exploring regions, outdoor recreation, events and lodging.
  • local.yahoo.com/weekender – just enter your zip code to find out what’s on the calendar for this weekend.
  • weekendevents.com – events and attraction listings by city and state.
  • City, County, and State Travel and Tourism sites
  • Community Calendars on Radio, TV, and Newspaper sites
  • Chamber of Commerce Sites
  • E-newsletters
  • Hotel sites – when I am traveling to a city for either business or pleasure, I will research what there is to do during my free time; the can’t-miss restaurants, tourist destinations or special events that are happening during my stay. One of the first places I look is the hotel website on ‘Things to Do Nearby’ page. Would I find a link to your event there?
  • Eventbrite.com – if you not only need to promote your event, but send invitations, sell tickets, collect online payments and more, then check out Eventbrite.
