UNUSUAL VENUES
Time to think outside the box! Although many public and private facilities were originally designed for a completely different purpose, there are plenty of sites that have the parking, the restrooms, and the space necessary to host all kinds of events. I’ve attended events in a state park visitor center, a home theater store showroom, a riverboat, a ballpark and a tasting room in a wine bar. So look around, your perfect venue may be right under your nose!
Here are just a few other uncommon places that you might investigate for your next meeting or event:
- Museums
- Theaters
- Churches
- Wineries
- Zoos
- Universities
- Career centers
- Trade schools
- Funeral homes (yes that’s right, funeral homes!)
- Government facilities such as city hall or the public library may also be available for rent if it’s not during their regular hours of operation.
